I was just thinking about how I would handle myself if I ever had to go back to highschool.
I certainly wouldn't spend half of Grade 8 with my tongue down my boyfriends throat.
I would try harder not to let my personal dislike of a few (select) teachers affect how I behaved in their class.
I would listen harder and milk my teachers for every scrap of knowledge they possess, while they were stuck in a class with me.
I would move outside of my comfort zone.
I wouldn't let a small argument turn into such a big deal.
I wouldn't judge people based on what they looked like, or what they wore.
I would pressure my science teacher to let me do more chemistry.
I would not coast through my maths class, because it was easy.
I would be myself and not who I was expected to be.
I would care less about how I looked and more about how I learned.
I would try to make a difference in peoples lives.

I didn't finish college. I did 3mths of year 11 and then got a job.
Eventually I will have to go back to school. This will be after I finish having children and frankly the idea of learning alongside 17 and 18 yo's when I am 30 scares me stiff.
But I have to do it.
Eventually.

You forgot to mention, that you would actually listen to your Mother....
Because, oops I didn't listen to my mother... and so It goes on and on and on Sweetheart...
xoxoxxoxox (notice the deliberate double-spacings that you hate,??)
XOXOXOXOXOXOXXOOX
Who had their tongue where????
Your Dad is doing the raised eyebrow thingy....
mmmmmmm.....
How do you define college? We have Kindergarten at age 5 and then 1st-12th grade, ending around age 18. All of that is public school (funded by government. Well, I guess there's a private option too, but they follow the public option). College after that is optional.
I think most of what you said kind of falls under the category "Youth is wasted on the young!"
I spent way too much time in school... after high school, 7 more years. Blech. I wish I could have just gone to Braden James University then, instead. ;-)
We have Kindergarten at age 4. Then Prep then grade 1-6.
For Highschool we have grade 7-10.
Then College is Grade 11-12.
College is optional.
After that we have University.
But on the Mainland ie: not Tasmania, their Highschool is grade 7-12. Gr 11-12 are optional, but expected there.
and so it goes on, shoulda, coulda, woulda, how many parents, past present and future have their advise fall on deaf ears, ahhh the folly of youth, enjoy it honey the years will fly pass too quickly.
